I've really tried to like the Asterion with the more pictures I see of it, but I just can't get myself to.

I just can't tell you why.

What is this era of which you speak, and why is it ending?

I would far rather the Urus went production than the Asterion. Plus, it'd sell far better.

And besides, BMW needs some competition for the next X6-M.

Automated cars are coming and coming fast. NA is essentially dead as well

NA meaning naturally aspirated, or North America? 'Cause I can take issue with either of those statements, but I need to know which is the focal point of this discussion.

Take issue all you want with either, both of these are coming. Sooner than you think.

It's not the prettiest thing but the technology and step into the 21st century is great to see.

In this case I'm talking North America, sorry for the confusion.

Have no fear the Urus will make it to the show room floor and as I said, it's power train is being tested here in the Asterion.

I hear ya. Something in its design seems off. I want to say the bonnet is too long or the windscreen doesn't come forward enough for its mid engine layout.

This right here is so full of win, I might just move to Europe.

LOL @ that Fast&Furious hatchback winning over VW's XL Sport.

VAG dominated this year, period. Yes I see what I did there.

The problem is the C pillar (in this case, the side rear window shape). It swoops up like a Lotus Evora instead of creating an imaginary line that ends within or on the edge of the wheel. Note how the Ferrari 458 accomplishes both. The Asterion's design creates the illusion that the front wheels are wider than the rear, which is very un-Lamborghini-like.

I also dont get the civic. Its the same crappy new civic with more power.

If you think about it, VAG tends to dominate the minds of men every year. Nothing is more powerful than VAG, not the "pen" nor the "sword".

Don't actually like. The front is trying to hard and missing something, proportions are whack - it should be a shooting-brake (a term i'm getting use to)

What I do like are the blacked-out pillars and the Miura references.

you stole the words out of my mouth...

The Lambo really looks like a modern day (bloated) Blue Miura .... was it intentional? If so, they could have made it lookmore sexy and organic.... but i guess this is the electric future square Miura...

1. There is no such thing as "VAG". It's Volkswagen Group.
2. Lamborghini is a part of Volkswagen Group.

Agreed, proportions are off and it's not the prettiest girl at the dance. I think the party dress was an after thought, an exercise by junior members of a design team. The Asterion is a technical exercise and demonstrator for power train developments and not just for Lambos.

Automated cars or self driving? Automated would be like lane control, auto braking etc. versus self driving which is like 15 years away in any kind of mass use IMO.

I agree it's probably 15 years away mass use but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes on a car sooner

As an individual item, in isolation I can understand but what it may mean to the brand is what makes it a show winner. Honda has certainly lost it's MOJO and needs it back and this car can jump start that revival, maybe. funny how we didn't see the NSX at all as far as I know: was it there?

There was a nice example of their first F1 car though. But that only accentuated how crappy Honda are these days.
